Flip It

Gratitude List 17/04/2018

There are many paths to gratitude. One that works for me is to flip a negative. It can be a short-cut formula for gratitude. It’s all about finding that silver lining and then getting it down on paper so it comes to life. I’m grateful for the fact my mind can work this way.

For every setback, is an opportunity for a comeback.

For every mistake, is an opportunity to learn.

For every resentment, is an opportunity to forgive.

For every fear, is an opportunity to rid.

For every rock bottom, is an opportunity to grow.

For every obstacle, is a tool.

For moments of sadness, there is evidence of love.

For each loss, it could be worse.

A relative newbie to gratitude. Starting each day with a gratitude list sets me up for the day. This small effort starts a domino effect of positive action and subsequent serenity.

  1. That’s a great tip for learning to express gratitude. I don’t do that often (I should though!), but it’s funny because yesterday (the day you wrote this, although I’m just now reading it) I used that tactic on one of my friends who was having a rough day. Any negative she brought up, I acknowledged her feelings on it, but then tried to turn it positive. But it’s easier to change our own perspective than force someone else to change theirs, especially when they are already down. Excellent post!
