Ask for help

Gratitude List 19/04/2018

I only found humility just over one year ago. I didn’t really know what it meant so I found myself having to Google it. Once I had a better understanding, I realised I possessed very little. Thankfully I was already learning how to be honest, open-minded and willing. With these, learning how to be humble wasn’t too difficult. For me, discovering humility was one of the most vital steps in my recovery. Without it my connection with my higher power wouldn’t be as strong as it is right now. Today, I am very grateful for the various ways I can find and experience humility….

Looking up at the sky, the stars, the sun, the moon and contemplating how small I am in contrast to the universe I am part of.

Reading and recalling lines like ‘who are you to say there’s no God’.

Honestly and fearlessly facing my defects of character.

Experiencing how life is much simpler when I stop trying to manage it. Instead, I will take each as it comes and fit myself to it. Letting go works.

Witnessing miracles. Miracles that had zero to do with me.

Learning from constructive criticism.

Reminding myself that despite being unique I am just a being. A lifeform surrounded by billions of unique others.

Acknowledging, accepting and admitting my mistakes.

Asking for help. I can’t do this on my own.
