Ultimately save lives

Gratitude List 03/09/2018

Experience, strength and hope. All extremely vital to hear whilst I continue to recover. Today I am grateful for the experience. Through the fellowship and the program I hear a lot of experience that I completely relate to. Some I haven’t personally experienced…… yet. Unless I learn from experience and work a strong program then I will always be susceptible to relapse and subsequently open to new experiences I’d rather not have.

– for every reminder of how serious this illness is.

– for every reminder of complacency and what it inevitably leads to.

– for every reminder of where I came from.

– for every reminder of where the illness can take me. All three options are entirely real and possible.

– for every reminder of the destruction and chaos I caused.

– for every reminder of what l lost.

– for every reminder of what I could’ve lost.

– for every reminder of the things I could still lose.

– for every reminder that I cannot take my foot off the pedal.

– for every reminder that the message needs to be strong.

– for every reminder that recovery must come first – I risk everything I prioritise ahead of recovery.

– for every reminder that I need to be honest with myself. Am I putting in the diligent effort? Am I going to any lengths?

– and lastly, for how I take these reminders on board. Resentment and cock-suredness can block the true message of these reminders – which is motivation to improve, work hard and ultimately save lives.
