Gratitude List 04/11/2018
Today I am grateful I don’t need to be right.
Today I am grateful I can resist saying the first thing that enters my head.
Today I am grateful I don’t judge my popularity by how many ‘likes’ I get.
Today I am grateful I don’t argue for argues sake.
Today I am grateful I don’t seek attention.
Today I am grateful I don’t feel the need to join in with gossip.
Today I am grateful I don’t expect people to meet my expectations.
Today I am grateful I don’t stir up trouble.
The reason why I show gratitude towards not having these traits is because I used to suffer from them all. None of them did me any good and nearly all of them caused harm to others. I sometimes wonder what people really thought of me? I wonder what they would say if I asked them to sit down and be fearlessly honest with me? A daunting thought. Thankfully, I am trying to put things right by continuing to work on my own recovery. I’m by no means perfect and I still struggle to keep all of these traits at bay all of the time. But at the very least I recognise when they rear their ugly head. I also have a basic knowledge of how to make amends.
