Another Good Day

06:35am Today I am grateful for the Reflection of the Day. What an incredibly comforting thought typified by this line – ‘May my restlessness be stilled by the unchanging nature of God, in whom I place my trust.’

06:36am Today I am grateful to have found some humility and as a result – a greater power. Only with this can I relate to the Reflection of the Day.

06:44am Today I am grateful to be listening to music. This morning it’s Mumford and Sons, they seem to amplify how I’m feeling right now – serene, happy and connected.

09:35am to 09:45am Today I am grateful for the very inspiring video, one for different reasons I can completely relate to.

11:14am Today I am grateful for the crystal blue sky today and the brilliant sun. It’s crisp but its beautiful. There is something comforting about facing the warmth of the sun.

12:45pm Today I am grateful for the lunch in my bag. It’s healthy, nutritious and plentiful.

13:30pm Today I am grateful for the comradery shared by the team at work. It’s one of the reasons I enjoy what I do.

15:03pm Today I am grateful for the understanding and support I have from my supervisors at work regarding some needed time off.

18:00pm Today I am grateful for the tools I have to deal with fear. They’re being put to good use right now.

20:00pm Today I am grateful for cooking my girlfriend a meal. It was nice to see her relaxing while I was doing something I enjoy.

Gratitude List 05/04/2019: Beautiful People

Gratitude List 05/04/2019

With all the negative publicity it’s easy to forget there’s so much good in this world. I’ve spent most of the morning on public transport which can be a testing time in the London rush hour. But today I am grateful to be seeing the good, especially in people.

Today I am grateful for the lovely family we share a commute with almost on a daily basis. The three children are adorable and well behaved. Always by their side, their mother, who you can tell is doing an amazing job.

Today I am grateful for the crowdful of people that accepted the queue into Seven Sisters for what it is – a time to show patience.

Today I am grateful for the tube driver who took the time at each station to personally announce the stop and wish everyone ‘a great day’.

Today I am grateful for the man (who could quite easily be stereotyped in a negative way) that continuously offered his seat up to people less able.

Today I am grateful for the busker at Kings Cross who shared his passion for music. He was having a great time jamming with his accordion!

Today I am grateful for the member of staff at the hospital who enthusiastically bounced through the waiting room carrying a tin with what I can only assume had a home baked cake inside.

Today I am grateful for the lady who held the door open for us. We weren’t exactly close behind her but she held it nevertheless. The simple things.

Today I am grateful for the platform speaker at London Bridge (yes TFL again!) who made everyone smile with his unique way of telling people to ‘mind the doors’.

Today I am grateful for my colleague at work who is absolutely nuts! 100 miles an hour! 25 hours a day! But he’s always got a smile on his face! He may not love his job, but he loves life!

Gratitude List 27/03/2019: Self-love

Self-love – regard for one’s own well-being and happiness

Good morning all. Presently, I am looking after myself – mentally, physically and spiritually and it feels good. I say presently, because I know through a lifetime’s worth of experience how easily it can change. The difference today is I have some tools which I believe can prolong and also enhance this feeling of self-love.

Today I am grateful I am currently eating better. I’ve come to realise how much and how badly I eat in between meals and how insane my thinking can be around it all. Today is just my 9th day abstinent from snacking but I feel so much better for it. I am also aware of trying to fill my body with decent, nutritious food (and drink) that is good for me.

Today I am grateful I am growing spiritually. Whether it be through prayer and meditation, reading inspirational literature or the practicing of spiritual principles like honesty, kindness and love. By doing so I am filling my mind with peace, happiness, gratitude and serenity as well as improving my conscious contact with God as I understand Him.

Today I am grateful I have the willingness to learn. I want to learn something new, like a new language. I fully admit I haven’t properly started yet and it’s all words no action but at least the desire is there. What I am doing on a daily basis is remaining teachable. Life is a daily education and today I am open to learn from both the ups and the downs.

Today I am grateful I have started to exercise a little more. I am conscious of the need to remain active, even if its getting off my chair and walking around a bit, walking up the escalators or doing a bit of gardening. I’ve gone back to the gym but I need to get back for the second time before I lose momentum – I know what I’m like!

Today I am grateful I have started to look after my health by getting myself to the doctor when I need to. In the past I would surpress my fears and simply hope the pain or discomfort would go away. Today I am more willing to get the professional help I need. Next up, the dentist!

Today I am grateful I choose to look becomingly. Well, I wouldn’t say I took too much care at 5:30 this morning but I and my clothes are at the very least washed and clean. I still need to take the time to sort out my crazy hair but it’s a far cry from the dishevelled look I used to grace the world with!

Today I am grateful I am filling the voids of my day with positive action. No longer am I wasting time doing s**t (sorry couldn’t think of a more appropriate word) that does nothing for my personal growth. I have a busy life so these moments are precious to me.

Today I am grateful that if I was to dissect myself right now I’d like to think my body is predominantly full of goodness. Goodness in terms of my mentality, my physicality and my spirituality.
